Friends of Tenwek Announces Impactful $225,000.00 Partnership with the Foxwynd Foundation
Friends of Tenwek (FOT) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Foxwynd Foundation through the Foxwynd Fellowship Program. The Foxwynd Foundation has pledged a three-year $225,000.00 commitment to FOT and its mission of supporting Tenwek Hospital, in rural Kenya.
The Foxwynd Foundation DAF funded Foxwynd Foundations’s donation to Friends of Tenwek via a three-year, $225,000.00 pledge.
Since its inception in 2012, FOT has raised over $8 million USD to support its mission. FOT’s goal is to grow an actively engaged global community to empower Tenwek Hospital to provide excellent, compassionate healthcare, spiritual ministry, and training for service through capacity-building, financial resources and spiritual support. One of these passionate community members who showed early dedication to the FOT mission is Dr. Paul Clark, a Grant Committee member of Foxwynd Foundation. As a volunteer to Tenwek Hospital, Dr. Clark recognized the importance of Tenwek and has worked closely with FOT since 2022. Dr. Clark saw the need and officially selected FOT to join the Foxwynd Fellowship Program in July, 2025, stating:
“I have been supporting Tenwek Hospital in rural Bomet, Kenya for many years now, including a 3-week Radiology mission trip in July, 2024. As I have been personally invested in the charitable work and medical services to Tenwek, it is fitting that I sponsor Friends of Tenwek, a US based organization supporting Tenwek Hospital, for our Fellowship Program.”
This significant investment from the Foxwynd Foundation will allow Friends of Tenwek to advance several priority initiatives that will directly strengthen the delivery of healthcare across the hospital. The funds will support improvements to clinical spaces, enhance essential medical infrastructure, and protect and expand access to safe, reliable equipment. These efforts will help Tenwek Hospital address growing patient needs, reduce treatment delays, insure safer clinical environments, and reinforce long-term operational stability.
“The mission of Tenwek Hospital is to provide excellent, compassionate, Christ-centered healthcare for the thousands of people who come there for treatment each year. It is the only source of quality healthcare for many rural Kenyans and even some people from neighboring countries. This partnership with the Foxwynd Foundation will allow Tenwek to institute at least five new programs which will have an immediate, long-term, positive impact on the delivery of this quality care. Our alliance with Foxwynd will not only provide critically needed physical improvements, but will also give strong encouragement to the doctors, trainees, students, and staff of the hospital for the care they give and the service they provide. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Paul Clark, The Foxwynd Foundation Board, and staff for recognizing the unique issues present in providing good medical care to remote areas of Africa, and for generously giving us the means to do it.” Said President and Executive Director of Friends of Tenwek, Russell Williams.
