One-Time Donation
All of our funding decisions are made in full partnership with Tenwek Hospital leaders – their priorities are our priorities! Your gift helps save lives, transform hearts, and create futures filled with hope and purpose.
Non-Cash Gifts
We partner with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) to handle all donations of stock, mutual funds, restricted securities and other asset-based giving.
Donor Advised Funds
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a personal charitable giving account hosted by a public charity or financial sponsor (like NCF, Fidelity Charitable or Schwab Charitable). You contribute cash or assets, take an immediate tax deduction, invest the money for tax-free growth, and recommend grants to nonprofits over time. A provides key tax strategies to help you AND the receiving organization:
- Donate appreciated stock: Avoid paying capital gains tax while deducting the full market value of securities (up to 30% of AGI).
- Bunch contributions: Group multiple years of planned charitable gifts into a single tax year to cross the itemized deduction threshold.
- Handle windflows: Deposit unexpected bonuses, business sales, or inheritance into a DAF during high-income years to offset tax liability.

Tom can provide the best way to send your check, or you a link to a form which allows you to select the fund, donation amount and whether or not it is a one-time or monthly donation.
Legacy Giving – Will and Testament
Legacy giving can be simple because it does not require wealth, cash today, or complex legal trusts. Easy ways to give:
- Wills and Bequests: Add a simple sentence to your will leaving a flat dollar amount or a specific percentage of your estate to a charity.
- Beneficiary Designations: Name a favorite nonprofit as a direct beneficiary on your IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy.
IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
Utilize the IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution for a tax-smart donation if you’re 70½ or older. Direct your Required Minimum Distribution to Friends of Tenwek and lower your taxable income. For a seamless transfer, instruct your IRA trustee to donate directly to FOT.
Charitable Gift
Annuity Fixed payments for life and a gift to charity. With a CGA from NCF, you make a gift and receive fixed annuity payments each year for the remainder of your life.
